The Forging Industry Association offers a variety of regularly schedule events to transfer technology along forging supply chains:
Forge Fair: This is North America's leading event for showcasing forging equipment, materials, supplies and technologies. Forge Fair 2010 is scheduled for April 20-22 in Cincinnati, Ohio. FDMC typically presents project papers and hosts a cluster of booths.
Forging Technical Conferences are held every 18 months bringing together leading technical experts to share advancements in forging technology.
FIA's annual Theory and Applications of Die Design School and Theory and Applications of Press Forging School have also featured training materials developed under the FDMC program. The Forging 101 Compact disk, produced by FDMC connects simulation to forging principals illustrating concepts of energy, power, and work in the forge.
Technology Transition occurs throughout the program with each project plan incorporating commericalization of transition plans.
FORGE Magazine was started in 2006 by thermal-processing magazine publisher, Industrial Heating, & the International Journal for Thermal Technology. FORGE is published the first month of each calendar quarter and is mailed to more forge shops than any other forging-industry publication. FORGE also has international distribution in India and China.
FORGING Magazine covers the world of open and closed-die and ring-rolling forge shops. Serving owners and operators, managers and engineers. Forging provides an industry overview for those with decision-making roles. Forging’s editorial content covers equipment and supplies, new process developments, case histories, and industry news. Forging is published bi-monthly by Penton Media, Inc.
